As independent photographers, Focalpoint reviewed many different types of virtual tour technology and iPix came out head and shoulders above the competition.

iPix is the only true 360° x 360° virtual tour that will run on 99% of computers without the need for downloads. The software used to create the virtual tours is extremely advanced and has many output formats.

The quality of the final iPix virtual tour starts with the initial photography. Using specially adapted cameras, two photos are taken of the subject 180° apart.

A high quality 'fisheye' lens is used to capture 185° of the subject to ensure 10° of overlap with each image.

The resulting images create two hemispheres which are loaded into the iPix Pro software to be 'stitched' together.

Once stitched together, the image is enhanced and retouched using Adobe Photoshop to produce the final iPix virtual tour.

Now the virtual tour is created, the iPix software can format the tour for web sites, e-mail brochures or CD-ROM.

Multimedia enhancements can be added to the virtual tour including audio clips, auto presentations and multi linked tours.

How it Works

iPix Information

iPix was founded in 1986 to commercialise technology developed with military-level R&D for the nuclear and space industries(including NASA).

iPix are the only 360° by 360°. floor to ceiling virtual tour solution provider with over 30 worldwide patents.

Over 1 million iPix images are viewed on the Internet everyday.

Multi-linked virtual tours can be created with 'clickable hotspots' to link the tours together. Its just like walking through a house room by room.
